about

"The world may be a desert, but the sound of this calligraphy tells you that oases still exist...!"
On their sixth album Asita Hamidi’s Bazaar pays tribute to the four points of the compass – “S.W.E.N.”. Oscillating between northern lights and the orient, it is a unique combination of masterly virtuoso musicians, extraordinary instrumentation and vocals.

The music of asita Hamidi's Bazaar is a display of passion, magnificent creativity and a winning sense of humour. Originally from different cultures - partly very diverse and distant, like Sweden, Switzerland and Iran – the musicians have found a common source of inspiration. Heritage, musical openness and the urge to explore, provide the basis for their compositions and improvisations. Their peerless sound-aesthetic, developed over years of intimate collaboration, give them an unmistakeable trademark: – „BAZAAR MUSIC“!

At the heart of it all is always the actual playing together and the wish to explore any common grounds of allegedly different cultures – the global language of music.

“Hamidi & Meyer - this combination of creative visions has proven to be very fruitful over the years, so also this time. This dream team, supported by Bruno Amstad and Kaspar Rast - the best singer and drummer imaginable - is simply predestined to win!” (Jazz’n’More)

The two finally met at a concert in Switzerland and instantly recognised their close musical relationship. Joined by vocal artist Bruno Amstad and drummer Kaspar Rast, they released 4 albums and played countless concerts until Asita’s passing in 2012. ... more
