about

Asita Hamidi was born in Vienna and grew up in Iran and Switzerland. It was more than a coincidence that made her choose the Harp as means of expression - like her, the harp is of oriental origin. The blend of eastern and western backgrounds always had a great impact on her life and work. Strongly influenced by both cultures, Asita's music followed a very personal trail.
This album showcases her extraordinary approach to using her electric concert Harp in a repertoire that combines influences from traditional music from around the world, improvisations and kaleidoscope-like pattern-sculptures.
Most of the music was transcribed and collected in the notebook “Bazaarmusic - Music for one world” for solo harp.

The two finally met at a concert in Switzerland and instantly recognised their close musical relationship. Joined by vocal artist Bruno Amstad and drummer Kaspar Rast, they released 4 albums and played countless concerts until Asita’s passing in 2012. ... more
